Zapier

Zapier is a no-code automation platform that enables users to connect various applications and automate workflows, known as ‘Zaps’. These Zaps consist of triggers and actions.

  • Trigger - an event that initiates the workflow

  • Action - the event that Zapier performs in response

This setup allows for seamless data flow between over 7,000 apps, enhancing productivity by reducing manual tasks.

Setup

Connect to the apps you need in a self-service approach via the standard Sailthru API. To enable this, you will need a Zapier account. Zapier requires a Sailthru 3rd party API key and secret in order to connect.

Best Practice: Connecting your account with a third party vendor requires a 3rd party API key and secret. For your account security, you should use a different key and secret for each integration. Contact support to request an integration-specific key and secret.

For more information, including what actions and triggers are available see the Sailthru page on the Zapier site

Lists

The Lists trigger activates when a new list is created in Sailthru. This allows you to initiate workflows in Zapier based on the creation of new lists in Sailthru.

Create / Update a User Profile in Sailthru

This action allows you to create a new customer profile or update an existing one in Sailthru. When setting up this action, you can specify the following fields:

  • Email or Sailthru ID (required): Identifies the user to create or update.

  • Email Opt-out Status: Sets the user's email subscription status. Currently supports full opt-in (none) and marketing opt-out (basic).

  • Add Customer to Lists: Assigns the user to specific lists within Sailthru.

  • Custom Fields: Allows for the inclusion of additional personalized data.

Send a Custom Event to Sailthru

This means that when a specified trigger occurs in another application, Zapier can prompt Sailthru to record a custom event, facilitating real-time data synchronization across platforms. This can be used to trigger flows in Lifecycle Optimizer with the Custom Event API entry. You can specify the following fields:

  • Email/SID of associated user profile.

  • Specify name of custom event.

  • Set event vars.
