Create a New Item: Device Registration

The New Item screen allows you to define multiple items, of the same type or of differing types, then create them all at the same time.

This topic describes how to create a new Device Registration. Device Registrations can also be created from the Device Registration screen.

To create a new Device Registration from the New Item screen:

1. In the list of asset types, click Device Registration. The system adds a Device Registration into the list of assets that are to be created. The default name of the Device Registration is New Device Registration followed by a counter.

2. In the Name field, enter a name for your new Device Registration. This name must be unique within the selected folder.

3. From the Data Source drop-down menu, select the source table for this Device Registration.

   Note: You can never modify this source table after the Device Registration is created.

4. Optionally, define any other assets that you want to create at the same time. If you need to remove an asset that you've defined, click the X next to the asset name within the list of assets to be created.

5. When finished, click Save All in the Tool Ribbon.
