FTP / S3 Profiles

To create a new FTP Profile:

1. Above the list of existing Profiles, click + New. A blank FTP / S3 Profiles screen is displayed.

2. Select the "FTP" radio button.

3. In the "FTP URL" field, enter the URL for the FTP Server. This URL must begin with the prefix "sftp://".

4. By default, Messaging will attempt to connect to the FTP Server in "active" mode. To instead connect in "passive" mode, place a check mark in the "Passive Mode" check box.

5. Define an authentication method:

Username / Password

SSH Keys

6. Click save.

Note: You don't provide a name for an FTP Profile. Instead, the combination of the "FTP URL" and the "User Name" values serves as its name. For example: "sftp://testserver - johnsmith"

To view or edit an FTP Profile:

1. Search for the desired FTP Profile (see Search for an Item for more details on the available search methods).

2. Click on the FTP Profile name. The FTP / S3 Profile screen is displayed and populated with the details of the selected FTP Profile.

3. Optionally, modify the "FTP URL" value.

4. Optionally, check or uncheck the "Passive Mode" check box.

5. Optionally, to modify the login credentials, enter a new username in the "User Name" field. To also change the password, place a check mark in the "Change Password?" check box. In the "Password" field, enter the new password. Enter this password again in the "Confirm Password" field.

6. When finished, click save.

To create a new S3 Profile:

1. Above the list of existing Profiles, click + New button. A blank FTP / S3 Profiles screen is displayed.

2. Select the "S3" radio button.

3. In the "Access Key" field, enter your Amazon Web Services access key.

4. In the "Secret Key" field, enter your Amazon Web Services access secret.

5. In the "Bucket Name" field, enter your Amazon S3 Bucket. The following rules apply to the Bucket Name:

• Bucket name must be between 3 and 63 characters long.

• Bucket name can consist only of lowercase letters, numbers, periods (.), and hyphens (-).

• Bucket name must begin and end with a letter or number.

• Bucket name must not be formatted as an IP address (for example, 192.168.5.4).

• Bucket name must not start with the prefix "xn--."

• Bucket name must not end with the suffix "-s3alias."

6. From the "Region" drop-down menu, select the desired AWS Region.

6. Select "ACLs are Disabled" if Access Control Lists (ACLs) are disabled in your S3 buckets, so that Messaging will automatically add the required parameter to ensure successful exports. All new AWS S3 buckets will have Access Control Lists (ACLs) disabled as a default setting by Amazon Web Services. AWS advises their S3 cloud storage bucket clients to disable ACLs for data security. When ACLs were disabled in S3 buckets, exports from Messaging to S3 buckets could fail.

7. Click save. The Secret Key field is blanked out after you save.

Note: You don't provide a name for an S3 Profile. Instead, the endpoint serves as its name.

To view or edit an S3 Profile:

1. Search for the desired S3 Profile (see Search for an Item for more details on the available search methods).

2. Click on the S3 Profile name. The FTP / S3 Profile screen is displayed and populated with the details of the selected S3 Profile.

3. Make any necessary changes to the S3 Profile settings.

4. When finished, click save.
