Send Email Proofs

A proof is a test email message sent to a designated recipient (or recipients) with the intended purpose of verifying the formatting, presentation, and content of the Mailing, prior to launching the Mailing.

Note: The ability to send proofs is an optional feature that must be enabled within your account. Speak to your Zeta team for more information on enabling this feature.

To send proofs for a Mailing:

  1. From the Menu Bar at the top of the Mailing Page, click Preview Mode. The system displays a rendering of how your message will appear to your recipients.

  1. From the Menu Bar at the top of the Mailing Page, click Send Test. The Send Test pop-up window is displayed.

  1. From the Test Recipients drop-down menu, select a Proofing Group.

A Proofing Group is a list of one or more email addresses that will receive a test message from the Mailing. Proofing Groups are created within Cheetah Digital by Zeta (see Proofing Groups for more information). Proofing Groups must then be assigned to a Client Node in Distributed Marketing to make them available for selection in this drop-down menu. See View or Edit Client Node Settings for more information.

By default, the platform will use the main Mailing audience to randomly select and populate proofing records with Personalization values. However, you can optionally designate an alternate audience from which to select the records that should be used for generating proofs. This alternate audience is defined through the use of a Proofing Filter, and is configured as part of the Proofing Group.

  1. If the Proofing Group you selected above has been configured to use a Proofing Filter, the Proofing Filter drop-down menu is displayed. From this menu, select the desired Proofing Filter.

  2. Click Send Test Now. The system sends proofs to all the recipients in the selected Proofing Group.

Note: The subject line for the proofs can optionally be prefixed with a default value (such as "PROOF" for example), to make them easier to identify within the recipients' email inbox. This proof prefix must be configured by a Zeta Administrator. If you'd like to use a proof prefix, please speak to your Zeta team.
