How to: Enable reCAPTCHA (Spam Entry Protection)

What is CAPTCHA?

CAPTCHA is a simple test (like clicking on pictures or or typing distorted text) that helps tell humans apart from bots. It stops fraud by blocking automated systems from faking sign-ups, votes, or entries.

How to Enable CAPTCHA

To enable CAPTCHA in your experience, follow the steps below.

  1. Find your experience under the Experiences tab and edit the experience by clicking on the edit icon on the right hand side.

  2. You will be taken to the main experience workspace where you then click on Settings in the left-hand side navigation menu.

    Note: The menu may vary depending on whether you’re using a new or legacy experience.

  3. Scroll to the Entry Fraud Prevention or Voting & Poll Fraud Prevention settings.

  4. Select the required CAPTCHA settings from the given options, in addition to the IP rate limits.

    • Smart CAPTCHA: Enables CAPTCHA challenges only when suspicious activity is detected

    • Always ask for CAPTCHA: Enables CAPTCHA challenges for everyone

  5. Click Save.
