LiveMap - Formatting and Uploading Locations CSV Files

A LiveMap is a local map showing the closest location to an opener's real-time location data.
Location datasets are an essential element of any LiveMap campaign. It is recommended to upload a location dataset before you create a LiveMap campaign.

Sample location datasets

Basic location dataset

If you are using a map only and no closest location text box, all you will need in your location dataset are three columns, containing the full address and the longitude and latitude for each address.

Please download the sample location dataset and fill in the full address, longitude, and latitude. Do not rearrange the columns, or add new columns. There are additional fields you can include in your location dataset that will be detailed later in this article.

For the full address, use the following format:
[Door number] [Street name], [City] [State], [Zipcode], [Country]

Example
1074 Austin Dr, Spring Valley, CA, 91977, USA

Note: If you want your LiveMap to redirect the user to the actual store instead of the latitude/longitude value in Google Maps, you should include the store name in the address column with the following format:
"store name - address".
Example: Parana - 1074 Austin Dr, Spring Valley, CA, 91977, USA . The opener will see a pin on the map with Parana as label.

When using the sample location dataset, once you have added the address(es) you would like to add, you must save it in order to upload it to your account. Once your location dataset is saved to your device or cloud, you can add it to your Liveclicker account.

Advanced location dataset

In addition to the default map attribute fields used in the custom CSS of a LiveMap campaign, Liveclicker allows you to upload 7 additional custom map attribute fields. You can show or hide these fields from your LiveMap using the Location Box Advanced Settings. To make sure these new custom map attribute fields show up correctly, they also need to be formatted into your dataset column headers.

In order to achieve the above experience, you must include the following fields in your location dataset and include the information so we can populate the text box at the moment of open.

- detailed_address_line_1
- detailed_address_line_2
- detailed_location_hours
- detailed_location_phone
- detailed_location_custom_1
- detailed_location_custom_2
- detailed_location_custom_3
- detailed_location_custom_4
- call_to_action — This is the text that will be displayed for the link URL
- detailed_destination_url — When included, this must be a valid URL. It is a location-specific destination, which means that if you are shown the said location and click on the element, you will be redirected to this destination. If this option is not included for a specific location, the clickthrough destination that is set in the UI will be used.
- detailed_store_id — When this StoreID is included in the CSV file, you can use it to render a fixed location on the map, by mapping this StoreID in the Locations dataset with the StoreID custom ESP field and thus retrieve the correct details. Note that you also need to configure the LiveMap campaign to use the StoreID as the Map location source.

Uploading a location dataset

1. Go to Account Settings > RealTime Content > Livemap Settings > Location Datasets:

2. Click the Upload CSV file button. A dialog pops up where you can indicate if your file contains geo-location information or only addresses:

Note: In order to use the Dataset Uploader, you must have a file with geo-location information with both the full address and the longitude and latitude of every location in your file.

a. If you have a CSV file including that information, click the Geo-location button. You are taken to the CSV uploader:

Name your dataset, then choose a file to upload. Once, you see the "Success! You can now close this overlay" confirmation text, close the overlay and you will see your new dataset in the Locations Datasets table:

b. If your file only includes the addresses, click the Addresses only button and a warning will be displayed. You will not be able to import a file with addresses only:

3. Once your CSV file has been successfully uploaded , you can preview your file by clicking the magnifying glass next to your dataset.

In the preview, you can download and see all of the addresses you uploaded plus any address attributes like "location hours" and "location phone" you have uploaded to use the LiveMaps Location Text Box feature.

To make edits to your file, it is recommended you download your file, edit it in Excel, delete your old dataset from Liveclicker, and then re-upload it as a new dataset.

Updating an existing dataset

If you need to update a dataset, you can do so by clicking on the Tools button:

This opens a dialog where you can upload a new version of your dataset.

Important note: The new version will be used in all campaigns where the previous version was in use. There is no need to make any changes in your campaigns to see the change, they will be updated automatically when the new version of the dataset is uploaded.

Location dataset uploader limitations

  • If you only have full addresses, you can contact support@liveclicker.com to use professional service hours to convert them into a file with both the addresses and latitude and longitude coordinates.

  • The uploader will only take files with up to 250,000 rows of data. If you have more than that, please contact support@liveclicker.com to have them run the file into the system manually.

LiveMap tips

  • If you want your LiveMap to redirect the user to the actual store instead of the latitude/longitude value in Google Maps, you should include the store name in the address column with the following format:
    "store name - address".
