LivePoll - Frequently Asked Questions
I’m not seeing the images update to reflect my chosen answer?
When using an Image-Based LivePoll campaign, in order for Gmail and Yahoo users to see the post-vote images or an update in the percentages of the LivePoll, they will need to request a new version from the Liveclicker servers; which is done by refreshing the page or reloading the email. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control since it has to do with their cache limitations.
How can I test the experience without seeing the results?
Liveclicker has a feature that is meant to be used for testing. When enabled users will be able to vote in the poll every time the email is reopened and analytics are counted differently.
How can I test a LivePoll multiple times and test the voting page multiple times?
When sending a test email with a LivePoll to your email address, the first time you will get the voting page. After voting and re-opening the email, you will see the post-vote images. However, if you want to test the voting page again, you need to change the SubscriberID in the custom fields section BEFORE sending another test email. This will ensure that you will receive the voting page, as if it was the first time it was sent.
Can I retarget subscribers based on their selection?
Yes. Once you have finished taking responses on your poll, you can export user-level data that can be utilized in our Data Sources section based on their selection.
Why is my poll duplicated when forwarded in Outlook?
When a campaign containing a LivePoll is forwarded from Outlook desktop, the email client strips out some of the necessary styles and the poll gets multiplied in the forwarded email.
Can I embed a LivePoll on a custom landing page or website?
Yes. Please reach out to support for further assistance. It's important to know that each page hit would count as an impression so we recommend using a custom landing page over your website that might experience high volumes of traffic.
