LiveReveal - Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I seeing the fallback image in Outlook for iOS?
If you are creating a LiveReveal without the landing page experience, the cover image will not be displayed when users open their email, users will see the hidden image instead. The Outlook app for iOS takes up less than 1% of all email opens so it should be a relatively low number of openers that receive this experience.
Why am I seeing a static image in Outlook 2017-2019?
Outlook 2017-2019 does not support animation. Instead of an animated cover image, a static cover image is delivered. When clicked, the rest of the experience remains the same.
Reporting for LiveReveal without the landing page experience
If you choose to create a LiveReveal without the landing page experience in Step 1 of the LiveReveal wizard, reporting will be severely limited:
-
All openers that received the revealed image in email because their email client does not allow for an in-email reveal, will be reported as "User did reveal the hidden image".
-
Unfortunately, we can not detect when the element is revealed if it is revealed inline.
-
The Insights report should have "Reveal unknown" (for the above email clients), and "Not able to reveal" (for all other email clients).
Why is my LiveReveal not responsive in landscape mode?
The LiveReveal landing page is responsive; however, on mobile devices, it will not resize when the orientation changes from landscape to portrait. That's because resizing the page elements would cause a "reset" of the reveal functionality to the unrevealed state.
Why is my LiveReveal not displaying in Oracle Responsys?
When pasting a iOS Optimized LiveReveal embed code into the Oracle Responsys template editor, Responsys changes the code by replacing the <input> tag with <finalinput> tag. This causes the LiveReveal to not be displayed on iOS. To resolve this issue, enclose your Liveclicker embed code with <form> </form> tags.
How do I disable the corner flip animation?
The corner flip animation is built into the element by default but if another experience is desired, you can upload a custom animated GIF instead of a static image for your cover image.
Can I embed a LiveReveal on a custom landing page or website?
Yes. Please reach out to support for further assistance. It's important to know that each page hit would count as an impression so we recommend using a custom landing page over your website that might experience high volumes of traffic.
How can I test the experience without seeing the revealed image?
Liveclicker has a feature that is meant to be used for testing. Enabled users will be able to reveal the image every time the email is reopened and analytics are counted differently.
