LiveSlides - Frequently Asked Questions
Why do my slides stop rotating after I clickthrough?
An additional thing to note in iOS when using individual slide clickthroughs is that the LiveSlide will stop cycling when a user clicks to a landing page from one of the slides. This is a core UX decision in the native mail app for iOS, the link clicked is given 'focus' when exiting the mail app to go to a landing page. This gives a good experience normally, because if a user goes back to the mail app it's useful to see what they just clicked on to get there. However, the effect for our LiveSlides is that it pauses them to keep the link in view - until the user 'clicks away' and removes the ':focus' state. The LiveSlide will restart if the user does this, but unfortunately without the aid of Javascript, there's no way to emulate it and restart the LiveSlide automatically after a clickthrough.
Why do my slides look different in the preview and campaign page?
Inside of the LiveSlide wizard, the preview is rendered quickly in HTML to simulate what the actual animated .gif of the LiveSlide will look like. The animated .gif of the LiveSlide shown on the campaign page and served in email campaigns appears to be less smooth than the preview in the wizard because of limitations in color and performance inherent in animated .gifs.mceclip1.png
I'm using Microsoft Edge, why is the LiveSlides configuration unavailable?
When creating a LiveSlides campaign in some versions of Microsoft Edge, the available options in Step 2, Configure LiveSlides, may not be displayed. To ensure these settings are displayed correctly, please, use an alternative browser.
