Target a Punch Card

Punch Cards can be made available to all of your Members, or they can be targeted to only certain Members. Targeting Punch Cards is managed through the use of Segments, Places, and Location Categories.

Segments use logical conditions to define the criteria for inclusion. Before targeting the Punch Cards based on a Segment, you must first create and publish the Segment with the desired conditions. See Segments for more information.

Places allow you to define geographical places such as stores, restaurants, or kiosks. Before targeting the Punch Card based on a Place, you must first create and publish the Place. See Places for more information.

Location Categories are used to group Places together. Before targeting the Punch Card based on a Location Category, you must first create the Location Category.

Target Punch Cards Using Segments

To target the Punch Card using Segments: 

  1. Select Campaigns from the top navigation bar, then select Punch Cards > Punch Cards from the side navigation menu. The Punch Cards screen is displayed.

  2. Search for and select the desired Punch Card (see Search for a Punch Card for more information on the available search options). The Punch Card Details screen is displayed, with the Definition tab selected by default.

  1. Select the Eligibility tab.

  2. The Included Segments section is used to make the Punch Card eligible only to Members in the selected Segment (or Segments). In this section, from the drop-down menu, select the desired Segment. Optionally you can type all or part of the Segment name to filter this menu.

  1. Click Add Segment. The selected Segment is displayed within the Included Segments section.

  1. Repeat the above steps as needed. If you add multiple Segments, a Member must be in only ONE of the selected Segments to be eligible for this Punch Card. That is, multiple Included Segments are joined with an OR operator.

  2. Optionally, to remove an Included Segment, click the Remove icon.

  1. The Excluded Segments section is used to make the Punch Card ineligible to Members in the selected Segment (or Segments). In this section, from the drop-down menu, select the desired Segment. Optionally you can type all or part of the Segment name to filter this menu.

  1. Click Add Segment. The selected Segment is displayed within the Excluded Segments section. If you add both an Included Segment and an Excluded Segment to the Punch Card, the Excluded Segment takes priority. Therefore, if a Member is selected by both the Included and the Excluded Segment, that Member will be ineligible for this Punch Card.

  2. Repeat the above steps as needed. If you add multiple Segments, a Member must be in only ONE of the selected Segments to be ineligible for this Punch Card. That is, multiple Excluded Segments are joined with an OR operator.

  3. Optionally, to remove an Excluded Segment, click the Remove icon.

Target Punch Cards Using Places

To target the Punch Card using Places: 

  1. Select Campaigns from the top navigation bar, then select Punch Cards > Punch Cards from the side navigation menu. The Punch Cards screen is displayed.

  2. Search for and select the desired Punch Card (see Search for a Punch Card for more information on the available search options). The Punch Card Details screen is displayed, with the Definition tab selected by default.

  3. Select the Eligibility tab.

  4. The Included Locations section is used to make the Punch Card eligible only to specified Places. In this section, from the drop-down menu, select the desired Place. Optionally you can type all or part of the Place name to filter this menu.

  5. Click Add Location. The selected Place is displayed within the Included Location section.

  6. Repeat the above steps as needed. If you add multiple Places, the Places are joined with an OR operator.

  7. Optionally, to remove an Included Place, click the Remove icon.

  1. The Included Location Categories section is used to make the Punch Card eligible only to specified Location Categories. In this section, from the drop-down menu, select the desired Location Category. Optionally you can type all or part of the Location Category name to filter this menu.

  2. Click Add Location Category. The selected Location Category is displayed within the Included Location Category section.

  3. Repeat the above steps as needed. If you add multiple Location Categories, the Location Categories are joined with an OR operator.

  4. Optionally, to remove an Included Location Category, click the Remove icon.

  5. The Excluded Locations section is used to make the Punch Card ineligible at a selected Place (or Places). In this section, from the drop-down menu, select the desired Place. Optionally you can type all or part of the Place name to filter this menu.

  6. Click Add Location. The selected Place is displayed within the Excluded Locations section.

  7. Repeat the above steps as needed. If you add multiple Places, the Places are joined with an OR operator.

  8. Optionally, to remove an Excluded Location, click the Remove icon.
