View Redemptions

A Reward is used to entice a Member to engage with your loyalty program by providing them with something beneficial in exchange for the Member spending their Metric points. In effect, the Member is "buying" something with their Metrics, such as a physical product, a badge, a promotional discount, or a coupon, for example. When a Member redeems a Reward, the platform creates an asset called a Redemption (sometimes referred to as a Reward Response) which links the Member to the Reward, and keeps track of the response metadata, such as its status, expiration date, and so forth.

Redemptions are considered a one-time use object, with their status changing to Completed once they are successfully used. If a Reward has been configured to allow Members to respond more than once, then each response will create a new Redemption linked to the Member’s Profile, with its own status.

The platform also supports the concept of an Award, which refers to a Reward given to a Member for free, without the Member having to spend their Metric points. Within the platform, an Award serves much the same purpose as a Redemption - it links the Member to the Reward and tracks important information about the Reward response.

Even though Redemption and Award assets are serving the same purpose, the platform displays Redemptions and Awards on separate tabs on the Reward Details screen, in order to make it easier for users to differentiate between the Rewards that a Member "paid" for, and the Rewards that a Member received for free. The Redemptions tab displays all Redemptions for this Reward, whereas the Awards tab displays all Awards for this Reward (see View Awards for more information).

Note: To view all Redemptions from all Members across all Rewards, please see the Redemptions screen. To see all Redemptions for all Rewards for a single Member, please see the Rewards tab of the Member Profile screen.

The search feature on the Responses tab allows you to search for a specified text string anywhere within several commonly-used Redemption fields, including Member name and email address. You can also filter the Responses tab to show only Redemptions created within a date range, or with a specified status.

To view the Redemptions for a Reward:

  1. Select Rewards from the top navigation bar, then select Rewards > Rewards from the side navigation menu. The Rewards screen is displayed.

  2. Search for and select the desired Reward (see Search for a Reward for more information on the available search options). The Reward Details screen is displayed, with the Definition tab selected by default.

  3. Select the Responses tab.

  4. Optionally, in the Search field, enter the desired text string.

  5. Optionally, use the two date fields to define a range for "created date."

  6. Optionally, from the Status drop-down menu, select a Redemption status. The default is Any Status.

  7. Press Enter, or click the Search icon. The Responses tab is refreshed to show only the Redemptions that meet your search criteria. Please note that if you enter multiple search conditions, the platform displays only the Redemptions that meet ALL criteria.

  8. To sort the search results, select the desired sort order from the Sort By drop-down menu. The default sort order is by: Date Created.

  9. Optionally, to remove all search criteria and revert to the default criteria, click the Clear icon.
