Content Rendering: the Basics

Once activated, Selligent will automatically “render” pages in the existing website instead of sending them directly to the WebAgent to be served as independent web pages. The page on the website in which the Selligent content is ‘rendered’ is called, the ‘rendering page’. It can be perceived as a sort of container in which any Selligent content (pages or forms) can be rendered (or visualized). These renderer pages will generate the normal website look & feel but will fetch the dynamic content from the Selligent Webagent. In most cases a single page in the CMS acts as a pass-through for all Selligent defined content. So a single rendering page can generate many different pages. The concept is visualized below:

This CMS will generate the page frame and will retrieve the content for the dynamic area from Selligent. In this call to Selligent, all parameters (both GET/POST) will be added so Selligent can process all the information.

Selligent provides a default content renderer. More information on this content renderer can be found in this document.
