What's New in Sailthru
Email and Time Filters for Triggered Send Log - Now Available
Background
Previously, the Triggered Send Log page has offered filtering by template and date range. While these filters are helpful, it can be difficult to quickly locate specific email events, especially when troubleshooting or reviewing activity for individual subscribers.
Solution
Sailthru is enhancing the Triggered Send Log page to make it faster and easier to find exactly what you’re looking for in the logs. These updates are designed to streamline your workflow when searching by email address or specific time-frames. Additionally, you will be able to navigate directly to a user profile by clicking on the email you have filtered.
What this looks like in Sailthru:
On the Triggered Send Log page, you’ll now see two new filters:
-
Email Address Filter
A text input that allows you to search for logs by a specific email address. Filtered emails are clickable, letting you navigate straight to that user’s profile. -
Time Range Filter
In addition to date range selection, you can now define a specific time window, down to the minute, helping you pinpoint email events.
Enhanced Engagement Detection for Opens
Background
As email privacy protections evolve, marketers face challenges in accurately measuring true audience engagement. One major factor is the rise of automated opens such as machine activity triggered by security filters and privacy tools rather than real people.
To date, Sailthru’s NHI (Non-Human Interaction) detection has primarily focused on opens caused by Apple Mail Privacy Protection (MPP).
Solution
To give marketers a more accurate view of engagement, Sailthru is expanding NHI detection capabilities beyond Apple MPP starting July 1, 2025. This enhancement will detect and classify machine-driven opens from Google, Yahoo, and other anti-spam or security technologies that can skew open metrics.
By broadening the scope of machine open detection, Sailthru helps ensure that open rate metrics better represent real human interaction. More accurate real activity detection leads to stronger segmentation, targeting, personalization, and automation—giving more impact to your efforts. Please see the Real Activity Guide for more information.
What this looks like in Sailthru:
This is an entirely behind the scenes change. You may start to see changes in your Open metrics from July as NHI detection expands beyond Apple MPP and more machine opens are accurately categorized as pre-cached opens. This means you can expect to see your real open metrics decrease, and pre-cached open metrics increase.
Net New Signups
Background:
The Signups column in the List Ledger Report shows the number of users who have signed up for a list. However, this number includes subscribers who are part of the existing audience or added from another list, so it's not as clear who is completely new
Solution:
Sailthru is making it easier to see real list growth. A new column has been added to the List Ledger Report to display ‘Net New Signups’. From here, marketers are able to see how many subscribers are truly new to a list and not already part of their existing audience.
What this looks like in Sailthru:
On the List Ledger Report there is a new column named ‘Net New Signups’. Please click the ‘View Net Invalids’ button at the top of the List Ledger Report to view the new column.
Coming Soon: Media Library
Background
Image assets have lived separately within each visual editor: Visual Email Templates, Visual Overlays, and Visual Hosted Pages. This leads to duplicate uploads and added effort when managing media.
Solution
Sailthru is introducing a new Media Library directly from the dropdown menu under the ‘Messaging’ tab. The Media Library will be shared across all Visual Editors (Visual Email Templates, Visual Overlays, and Visual Hosted Pages). This update simplifies asset management by consolidating your images into a single location so there will be no need to upload the same image multiple times for different editors. For existing customers, your image assets will be automatically available inside the new Media Library for use.
What this looks like in Sailthru
Under the Messaging tab in Sailthru, you’ll find the new centralized Media Library, giving you a single place to manage all your image assets. Any images you add here will be accessible across Visual Email Templates, Visual Overlays, and Visual Hosted Pages, creating a unified experience that reduces the need for duplicate uploads.
If you access the Media Library from within a Visual Editor, the experience will feel familiar. There are no changes to how you select, upload, or organize images within the editor. What’s new is the unified backend, which ensures your media is synced across all visual editors.
We’re also introducing a new Zephyr function—media—which makes it easier to insert images into HTML templates where Zephyr is supported. For example: {media("/April/promo.jpg")}
