Advanced Editor -- Adding Loyalty Objects
If you use Zeta Loyalty to manage your membership loyalty program, you can reference objects created in Loyalty in your Cheetah Digital by Zeta Campaign. The Advanced Editor allows you to drag-and-drop Loyalty assets from the Personalization Pane into the Campaign content, just like you do for Cheetah Digital by Zeta objects.
Note: The use of Loyalty objects in Cheetah Digital is available only for Email Campaigns that use the Engagement Data Platform (EDP) as the data source. This feature is not available for Campaigns that use a Cheetah Digital by Zeta table as the data source.
To use Loyalty objects in your Cheetah Digital Campaign, you must complete the following prerequisites:
-
You must have a Cheetah Loyalty account.
-
Your Cheetah Digital by Zeta account must be configured to enable the use of Loyalty content. This process is performed by a Cheetah Digital by Zeta system administrator. Please speak with your Services Representative for more details.
Content Tokens
Content Tokens in Loyalty are conceptually similar to Merge Symbols in Cheetah Digital. They are reusable tokens that serve as a textual representation of a field. You can insert Content Tokens into message content, and the platform will populate the token with the value in that field. Please note the following restrictions regarding the use of Content Tokens:
-
Any Content Tokens that you want to reference must be defined within Loyalty.
-
Cheetah Digital supports the use of Loyalty Content Tokens of the following types: Merge, Metric, Place, and Lookup.
-
The specific Loyalty Content Tokens that you want to reference must be enabled for use in Cheetah Digital. This process is managed on the EDP and Loyalty Data Manager screen.
Content Objects
The term Content Objects within Loyalty refers to a category of object types that can include displayable content, such as text, images, and links. Loyalty uses a wide range of Content Objects to support client loyalty programs. Cheetah Digital allows you to use various types of Content Objects within Campaign content. Please note the following restrictions regarding the use of Loyalty Content Objects:
-
Any links present in the Content Object will not be tracked.
-
Any Content Object that you want to reference must be defined within Loyalty, and it must have a status of Published.
-
If you send Proofs from the review section, the Content Object section of the proof message will be blank. Conversely, if you send Proofs via the Quick Proof option in the Preview window, the Content Object will be rendered within the proof message.
-
As part of the Content Object, you must also select a Layout. Layouts are defined within Loyalty, and must also be enabled with the Cheetah Digital back-end; please speak with your Service Representative about this process.
Add a Loyalty Content Token
To add a Loyalty Content Token to your message content:
-
Within the text editor, position your cursor where you want to insert the Content Token.
-
Click the blue Personalization & Library bar along the right-hand side of the screen to expand the Personalization Pane. Within this panel, the available fields are organized into different expandable / collapsible groups. For example, you'll see a section for your EDP database fields, and another section called "Loyalty Content Tokens."
-
Click Loyalty Content Tokens to expand it. You'll see sub-groups beneath it for the different Content Token types (Lookup, Metric, Merge, and Place).
-
Expand the desired Content Token type to find the Content Token you want to use. You can also use the search function within the Personalization Pane to search for a particular text string within the Content Token name.
-
Double-click on the Content Token (or, optionally, you can drag the desired Content Token from the Personalization Pane, and drop it into the text editor at the desired insert location). The system creates a new Merge Symbol for this Content Token, and inserts it at the current cursor position (or at the drop location if you drag-and-dropped the item). The Merge Symbol consists of the prefix "loyalty:" followed by the Content Token value.
Add a Loyalty Content Object
To add a Loyalty Content Object to your message content:
-
Within the text editor, position your cursor where you want to insert the Content Object.
-
Click the blue Personalization & Library bar along the right-hand side of the screen to expand the Personalization Pane. Within this panel, the available fields and assets are organized into different expandable / collapsible groups.
-
Click CES Library to expand it.
-
Double-click on the desired Content Object type. The Select pop-up window is displayed.
-
Click the desired object. The Settings section is displayed.
Note: Loyalty Content Objects must have a status of "Published" in order for them to be available as a selection.
-
From the Layout drop-down menu, select the desired Layout. Layouts are created within Loyalty, and are used to define the format and presentation of the object's content.
-
If you selected the Offer from Placement object type, enter the ranking for this Placement.
-
The system creates a new Merge Symbol for this Content Object, and inserts it at the current cursor position (or at the drop location if you drag-and-dropped the item from the Personalization Pane). A Merge Symbol is a textual representation of the Content Object. The Merge Symbol consists of the prefix "LoyaltyLibrary" followed by the Loyalty object type (such as "offer"), its Object ID, and the Layout name, enclosed in double-brackets. For example:
({LoyaltyLibrary:offer|4|email-hero})
Reuse an Asset in Message Content
Once you add an asset to the message content, the Merge Symbol for that asset is added to the "Included Items" section of the Personalization Pane. This section allows you to conveniently find and reuse an asset without having to search for it every time.
Note: After adding an asset to the message content, you may need to close / reopen the Personalization Pane in order to "refresh" the values listed within the "Included Items" section.
To reuse an asset that you previously added to the message content:
-
Within the text editor, position your cursor where you want to insert the asset.
-
Click the Personalization & Library bar along the right-hand side of the screen to expand the Personalization Pane.
-
Within the Included Items section of the Personalization Pane, double-click on the desired Merge Symbol. The system inserts the Merge Symbol at the current cursor position. Or, optionally, you can drag the desired Merge Symbol from the "Included Items" section, and drop it into the text editor at the desired insert location
Note: If you remove all instances of an asset, the platform will remove its Merge Symbol from the "Included Items" section.
