Segment Details: Member Overrides

Overview

Segments contain logical statements or conditions used to create sets of consumers for use in targeting and analytics. You can optionally override the logic within a Segment, and explicitly include an individual in, or exclude an individual from, a Segment.

The Member Overrides tab is separated into two main sections:

  • Included Members: A list of consumers who have been explicitly included in this Segment.

  • Excluded Members: A list of consumers who have been explicitly excluded from this Segment.

The features and options available from the Member Overrides section are described below.

Include / Exclude Consumers

The features related to including or excluding consumers are as follows:

 Include Consumer in a Segment

The platform allows you to override the logic in a Segment, and explicitly include a consumer in a Segment.

  1. In the "Included Members" section, begin typing the consumer's name (you must type at least three characters). From the drop-down menu, select the desired consumer.

  2. Click add member.

  3. Repeat the above steps as needed.

Once added, the platform displays the consumer's name, email address, and ID. To view additional details on a consumer, click on their name. The Member Details screen is displayed. 

 Exclude Consumer from a Segment

The platform allows you to override the logic in a Segment, and explicitly exclude a consumer from a Segment.

  1. In the "Excluded Members" section, begin typing the consumer's name (you must type at least three characters). From the drop-down menu, select the desired consumer.

  2. Click add member.

  3. Repeat the above steps as needed.

Once added, the platform displays the consumer's name, email address, and ID. To view additional details on a consumer, click on their name. The Member Details screen is displayed. 

Remove a Consumer from an Override

To remove a consumer from either a Segment's "Included Members" or "Excluded Members" list:

  1. Next to the desired consumer, click the remove button (trash can icon).

  2. A confirmation dialog box is displayed. Click confirm.
