Challenge Categories

Overview

Challenge Categories allows you to organize your Challenges into groups. 

Access

To access the Challenges Categories screen, select Challenges from the Main Navigation Menu, then select Settings > Challenge Categories from the Sub-Category menu.

Features

The features available on the Challenge Categories screen are described below. 

Searching and Sorting

Search

The search feature allows you to search for a specified text string anywhere within the following Challenge Category fields: Display Name or Internal Name.  

  1. Optionally, in the search field near the top of the Challenge Categories screen, enter the desired text string.

  2. Press Enter, or click the search button (magnifying glass icon).

  3. The Challenge Categories screen is refreshed to show only the Challenge Categories that meet your search criteria. 

  4. To remove all search criteria, click the remove button ("X" icon).

Sort

The "Sort" drop-down menu allows you to sort the Challenge Categories on a variety of different fields. To sort the list of Challenge Categories, select the desired sort option from this menu.

  • Challenge Category ID (default)

  • Challenge Category Name

  • Created Date

  • Updated Date

Create New Challenge Category

To create a new Challenge Category:

  1. In the "Enter Display Name" field, enter the Display Name value for the new Challenge Category.

  2. Click create. The "Edit Challenge Category" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. The "Display Name" field is populated with the value you entered above; optionally edit this value.

  4. The "Internal Name" is automatically populated based on the "Display Name" value. This field is disabled by default. To edit the Internal Name, check the "Edit Internal Name" check box. A confirmation dialog box is displayed; click ok. Edit the Internal Name value.

  5. To assign an image to this Challenge Category, click choose file. Browse to and select an image file, and click open.

  6. Optioanlly, in the "Description" field, enter a description of the Challenge Category.

  7. Optionally, check internal if this Challenge Category is for internal use only. 

  8. Click save.  

View or Edit a Challenge Category

To view or edit the details of a Challenge Category:

  1. Search, sort, or filter the Challenge Categories screen as described above.

  2. Click on the desired Challenge Category. The "Edit Challenge Category" pop-up window is displayed. 

  3. Make any necessary changes to the Challenge Category properties.

  4. Click save.

Delete a Challenge Category

To delete a Challenge Category:

  1. Search, sort, or filter the Challenge Categories screen as described above.

  2. Click on the desired Challenge Category. The "Edit Challenge Category" pop-up window is displayed. 

  3. Click delete. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  4. Click confirm.
