Glossary
API — APIs, or application programming interfaces, act as the language that allows different software applications to talk to one another. In this case, the Signals API allows websites to communicate with the Marigold Moments application. Detailed API documentation explains how to communicate and which methods to use.
Web SDK — A software development kit (SDK) is a set of software tools, libraries, and programs provided by hardware and software vendors that developers can use to build applications for specific platforms. Web SDKs help developers easily integrate their websites with a vendor's services. In this case, the web SDK allows developers to track events on a website and send signals to the Moments application.
Signal — A Signal is a specific event that is sent in real-time that gives the marketer some insight on the interactions of their known customers on the different domains.
Moment — A Moment is listening to these signals and acting in a hyper personal way or sending real time communications as the result of a specific signal. Moments listen only to signals coming from specific domains.
Audience Configuration — An Audience configuration is the definition of what domains are allowed to send web signals using a specific SDK/API key and to which audience in your marketing environment these signals are used. Every Moment must be linked to an Audience Configuration.
