Badge Categories

Overview

Badge Categories are an organization tool that allow you to group together Badges.

Once you create a Badge Category, you can assign Badges to it from the Badge Details screen.

Access

To access the Badge Categories screen, select Rewards from the Main Navigation Menu, then select Settings > Badge Categories from the Sub-Category menu.

The Badge Categories screen provides the following features:

Searching and Sorting

Search

The search feature allows you to search for a specified text string anywhere within the following fields: display name or internal name.  

  1. Optionally, in the search field near the top of the Badge Categories screen, enter the desired text string.

  2. Press Enter, or click the search button (magnifying glass icon).

  3. The Badge Categories screen is refreshed to show only the Badge Categories that meet your search criteria. Please note that if you enter multiple search conditions, the platform displays only the Badge Categories that meet ALL criteria.

  4. To remove all search criteria, click the remove button ("X" icon).

Sort

The "Sort" drop-down menu allows you to sort the Badge Categories on a variety of different fields. To sort the list of Badge Categories, select the desired sort option from this menu.

  • Name (default option)

  • Created Date

  • Updated Date

Create a New Badge Category

To create a new Badge Category:

  1. In the "Enter Display Name" field, enter the name of the new Badge Category.

  2. Click create. The "Edit Badge Category" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. The "Display Name" field is populated with the value you entered above in step 1; optionally edit this value.

  4. The "Internal Name" is automatically populated based on the "Display Name" value. This field is disabled by default. To edit the Internal Name, check the "Edit Internal Name" check box. A confirmation dialog box is displayed; click ok. Edit the Internal Name value.

  5. To assign an image to this Badge Category, click choose file, then browse to and select the desired image file.

  6. In the "Description" field, enter a description of the Badge Category.

  7. Optionally check "Internal" to make the Badge Category internal-facing only.

  8. Click save.  

View or Edit Badge Category Properties

To view or edit the Badge Category properties:

  1. Optionally search for the Badge Category as described above.

  2. Click on the Badge Category record. The "Edit Badge Category" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. Make any necessary changes to the Badge Category properties.

  4. Click save. 

Delete a Badge Category

To delete a Badge Category:

  1. Optionally search for the Badge Category as described above.

  2. Click on the Badge Category record. The "Edit Badge Category" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. Click delete. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  4. Click confirm.
