Getting Started With Content Blocks: Hero Image
A hero image is a large eye-catching image that's usually the focus of the communication, for example: new deals, special offers, personalized greeting, etc.
Without Content Blocks, minimum steps to add a Hero image to your email would be :
- Add an Image component — Place it in the row where the Hero image should appear.
- Set the image path — Upload or paste the file URL.
- Add alternate text — Short description for accessibility and image-off scenarios.
- Add a link — Choose where the image sends people when clicked.
Quick tips
- Keep it light — Use a web-friendly size so emails load fast
- Stay on brand — Use approved imagery and keep key content away from the edges
- Write helpful alt text — e.g., New spring collection hero
- Test the link — Confirm it opens the right page on desktop and mobile
When you’re producing more content, repeating the same setup for every email is slow and error-prone. Creating the Hero Image as a Content Block means you just drag one component into the row — formatting and brand styling are built in.
In this user guide we are discussing the following options:
-
Use a static non-editable image — A single image that is non-editable
-
Swap a static image — A single image inside the block that you can replace as needed
-
Pick from a preset list — An approved set of images with a simple selector
-
Use a dynamic image — Pulled from a repeater to update based on date or rules
