Journey Start Page
When you launch the Journey entry from the left navigator, a Start page is displayed. Currently, this Start page provides an overview of all journeys that have been created, grouped in folders and subfolders. Folders are displayed at the top, followed by all starred items.
You can filter journeys in the Start page using the filter buttons in the toolbar: Custom, Single Batch, Single Batch A/B, Transactional and Recurring Batch.
Note: The selected filters will be maintained when navigating the different chapters. This means that when you return to the Start page, the previous selected filters will still be there.
The Start page contains the following details:
- The name of the journey
- When it was last modified
- The status. This can range from draft, published, active, scheduled to executed, offline or canceled
- The type of journey
- The last and next execution dates
- Labels assigned
A search can be performed by entering whole or part of the text in the search field. The search is performed in the Name and Label fields.
From the overview, the following controls are available. These icons appear when hovering the record in the overview:
- Jumps straight to the journey where you can edit it.
- Displays the API example script (transactional journeys only)
- Displays the report for the selected journey (Transactional and Single Batch Journeys only)
- Deletes the selected journey. When deleting a Transactional Journey that was used in an SQL task or Import task (in the option 'trigger a journey after a task has run'), the user is informed and deletion is not possible.
- marks the selected journey as a starred journey. Starred items are added to the Start page and listed in the 'My starred items' section.
-
Copies the selected journey
- When you copy a Single Batch Journey with a template based message, it will create a new message (instance) of the same template with the same content as the original message. When you update data coming from a data selection in either message, it gets updated in both messages.
Note that the journey content is copied automatically without the option to choose to copy or not the content of the journey. All properties of the journey are copied to the new journey, except for the pre-calculation settings. The marketer is informed through a popup notification:
- When you duplicate a Custom Journey, Recurring Batch Journey, AB Journey or Single Batch Journey, based on a message, you are presented with a question, to either copy the content of the journey or not.
- If the answer is to not copy, then all assets will be re-used and only the journey is copied in the same folder as the original one. All properties of the journey are copied to the new journey, except for the pre-calculation settings.
- If the answer is to copy the content, then all assets used in the journey will be copied in their respective folders and automatically published. Again, data selections used in duplicated messages will not be copied. All properties of the journey are copied to the new journey, except for the pre-calculation settings.
Duplicating Custom Journeys may take some time to complete. A progress icon in the toolbar provides you the status of the operation:
- When you copy a Single Batch Journey with a template based message, it will create a new message (instance) of the same template with the same content as the original message. When you update data coming from a data selection in either message, it gets updated in both messages.

Note : When read-only rights are attributed, some of the above controls will not be available. This includes Delete, Copy and Move. Creating a new journey will only be possible for the journey types to which the user has full access.
Technical note:
When duplicating a journey certain information is cleared to ensure there are no conflicts.
For Single Batch components:
* The API name is cleared as this must be a unique value
* The launch date is cleared to force marketers to set the correct date here and to prevent validation errors due to journeys planned in the past
* The pre-calculate settings in the advanced properties
For Recurring Batch components:
* The activation date is cleared to prevent validation errors due to journeys scheduled in the past
* The pre-calculate settings in the advanced properties
For AB Test components:
* The launch date is cleared to force marketers to enter the correct date and prevent validation errors
At the top, a toolbar is available from which a new journey can be created or new folders can be added. Click New. The Create a journey wizard is displayed:
- Single Batch Journey
- Single Batch A/B Journey
- Recurring Batch Journey
- Transactional Journey
- Custom Journey
Note: Depending on the read-only rights and access rights, only part of the mentioned journey types might be available.
